According to WAP 209 (topic 6.1.1) MMSC Relay should fill the FROM field. Usually it is a PLMN number. So, what is the source of the PLMN number? | |||

That is for the MMSC to decide. Basically, the procedure by which the MMSC identifies the user is an implementation decision for the MMSC, and is outside of the specifications. I can tell you the two ways that we do this in our MMSC ... 1.) User accounts are manually provisioned on the MMSC, and the MMSC URL configured on each phone is different, including a username and password for the account. 2.) The MSISDN is fetched from the network. In our MMSC implementation, we expect to receive the MSISDN from the WAP (or HTTP) proxy server in an HTTP header. The WAP (or HTTP) proxy usually uses Radius protocols to receive the MSISDN from the GGSN or network access server (cooperation between the two network components is required). | |||
