I would like to set up my own sms gateway and send and receive sms messages. I realise i need a GSM modem for that hooked up with the PC and gateway software(nowsms).. Am i right? If so.. where is the best place to get a cheap GSM modem to meet my needs? (I just need to send and receive sms text messages). I live in Canada by the way..

any help is greatly appreciated.

oh.. one other thing.. i have this old motorola phone.. realy old.. only thing it saies is "Timeport" on it.. how can i find out if this one has gsm modem inside? how can i find out what ius the model of phone if there is no sign on it?

Ok, so its good that u know that u can use u'r own phone as modem.

Once u'r phone is connected to u'r PC then make sure it really is and on what port ( read nowsms documentation for that). In nowsms u can type in the port number and it will detect u'r phone connected on that port and will also check that for u.
After that u have to read a little bit more of nowsms documentation to figure out that how to send sms.

As for the phone. Just google it and see if has some specifications for that which says that yes it can work as the modem.
