I am not familiar with SMS gateways and servers in general, but I am coding an app in which I want to use SMS messages and replies.

My application sends SMS to customers and the customers have to reply with Y or N to the message.

Here is a sample message:

From: system@mywebapp.com
Sent: Mon, 04 Feb 2008 20:22:18 -0500
To: 2122837984@vtext.com
Subject: *ORD00014* - AMT VRF
$ 32.50
Please reply Y or N

The problem I am having with a Verizon customer is that his replies do not include the original subject.

The replies should come back with a subject of:
RE: *ORD000014* - AMT VRF

and instead I am only getting:
Y

in both subject and body.

Is there a way to configure it so the original subject is included in the reply? Does this depend on the phone used? Gateway? Carrier?

Thanks a lot,

Lionel

i dont't think u get a sms subject. If yes then it is phone dependent. i cant remember but i ve seen a motorola phone is ask for the subject when sending the SMS.

u can ask the user to sent order number with the option 'Y' and 'N' also u get the mobile number. like user will send 'AMT VRF ORD000014 Y' to confirm
