Hi guys,

I'm now try to send my own configured MMS (I made it from MMS header 8C84... to MMS body, SMIL.) use NowSMS's Send MMS Notification with my own MMS's URL(I put it in the folder MMSCDATA, so the URL which I set is http://MMSC_URL/My_own_MMS.MMS). However, my cell phone didn't receive anything after I send the MMS Notification. In another situation, if I put the MMS which stored in MMSCDATA/Receiving_Date, it can work even I move it from its original folder to MMSCDATA and set the MMS URL to http://MMSC_URL/Stored_MMS.MMS. Is it because there is a log file in somewhere to record the MMS which NowSMS has received? So if the requested MMS which doesn't in this log file, NowSMS won't find this MMS? If I want to send my own configured MMS, how should I do?

Thanks for concerning my question!

Josh

Hi Josh,

It sounds like there may be some sort of format problem the MMS message that you created.

When you put the MMS message into the MMSCDATA directory ... and send the notification ... do you see an MMSRETRIEVE record in the MMSC-yyyymmdd.LOG file for the message?

If so, the phone did connect in to download it.

But some phones just ignore the message if it is corrupt (others will tell you that the message is corrupt). I like SonyEricsson phones for testing, because they show the notification in the inbox, and report an error if there's a problem with the content. But a lot of other devices just hide the fact that anything has occurred.

Hi Des,

Thanks for your reply!
Sorry! I should describe more detail about what and how I do in sending custom MMS. I think it may not be the format problem because at this time I want to find a way to send my own MMS, so I use the old MMS file in the MMSCDATA which has been deleted at first. Since I use Nowsms with 8960 E5515C to send this MMS notification, I can see 8960 is sending this notification and then the phone try to connect to MMS URL to retrieve this MMS and then connection is finished and nothing happen. Since I think the different between the old MMS file and the MMS file in MMSCDATA is .ini file, I put the old MMS file's .ini file with it and test again, the result is the same, nothing happen.
Since the 8960 shows the phone is connected to somewhere, but I'm not sure if the phone connect to NowSMS successfully, so I will go check MMSC-yyyymmdd to see if the phone did connect in to NowSMS.
