Hi all

Actually i already implemented an application which should send to Mobile subscribers inside the Network SMS on certain conditions based on predefined triggers, the connection between this application and the SMSC will be SMPP connection My application is already running on Application server and this Server should send the SMS text format to the SMSC through the SMPP connection

so i want to know how will i connect to the SMSC through this SMPP connection (what are the messages, procedures) and what is the needed configuration on the SMSC and what is the related procedures ,HW,software i need to know in order to be able to connect with the SMSC.

So please anyone can advice...

Hi Max,

I'm sorry for any confusion ... but as it states on the download page:

quote:

Please note that a connection to an SMS service provider, or a GSM modem is required to send messages using this software.

NowSMS is not a bulk SMS or MMS service provider.

NowSMS is not a replacement for a bulk SMS or MMS service provider. You need a connection to an SMS service provider, or a GSM modem, before you can send any messages with NowSMS.

NowSMS is a middleware tool which simplifies the process of connecting to one or more of these service providers and/or managing one or more GSM modems.

NowSMS supports a variety of different SMSC connectivity protocols for connecting to SMS service providers, but there are no magic settings to allow you to start sending messages without an account with an SMS service provider (or a GSM modem with a subscription to a mobile operator).

It depends on how large your data is.

A single SMS message can contain either 160 7-bit text characters, or 140 8-bit binary bytes of data.

You can use concatenation to send larger amounts of data that spans multiple SMS messages ... but if your data packets are significantly larger, then SMS isn't a good idea.

NowSMS Lite can be installed on a PC with a GSM/GPRS modem attached. It exposes an SMPP interface to your application so that you can send/receive SMS over the modem via an SMPP interface. A trial version is available for download at http://www.nowsms.com/lite
