Hi all,
have just typed my query into google and up popped the link to this site, so i thought i would give it a go.
Up until recently i was using the nokia 3650 but have decided to give the samsung v200 a try (just to see if i like samsungs)
I put my existing (o2) sim card into the new samsung, and an older (vodafone) sim into the nokia, in order to send all of my photographs that were stored on the nokia over to the samsung (still with me...?!)
Anyhow, a little symbol on each phone appeared as if an mms was being sent/downloaded but alas nothing has yet been received and the symbols are still there?
I have tried removing sim cards/batteries/turning handsets off but to no avail...and now to make matters worse i cannot receive calls/text messages etc on my current o2 sim that is in the samsung :-(
Anybody mind helping a not so technical minded blonde out?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Jonatan

What is the point with all these blonde/female stuff? You will get help even without the crap about you being a "non technical, defenseless, blonde female". I get disgusted.

Hey blondie - blonde or not - here's a suggestion: When you changed your SIM card over, did you change your GPRS/MMS settings on the Samsung so that it knows to use the O2 network for collecting the MMS file? If the Samsung was provided by O2 then the chances are it's already set up but worth a check.

Might be a stupid question, but does the Samsung require unlocking to use your O2 SIM? Perhaps that's why you can't make calls, send texts etc. Again if you got it from O2 then it's probably set up fine.

If you cant make calls or text on the samsung with the o2 sim then you won't be able to receive pics either.U need to sort this problem first. Not all phones are "unlocked" to receive sims from other networks,so the samsung may work with a sim from voda,or orange but not o2. get help unlocking on www.unlockme.co.uk. U need to download the vodafone live and mms settings to the nokia again with the vodafone sim in to send and receive mms (there are different settings for o2&vodaofne)

I have a Nokia 3100 on Virgin and my partner has a Samsung E800 on Vodafone. I can send her MMS's and she receives them but I receive nothing when she sends me a MMS. I have received MMS's from Virgin when I contacted then and from friends on Vodafone with GX10 handsets. My partner has sent and received MMS's succesfully from other Vodafone users with GX10 and 30's. Are our phones incompatible? Vodafone and Virgin say both phones are fine!

Hi to all,
I know this question has been asked before and it probably has a really simple answer but i cant for the life of me work it out.

I wonder if anyone here has any idea why when I send a picture message I get MMS MESSAGE FAILED.
and the message just stays in the outbox.

I bought the Nokia 7259i SIM free and I have Orange “pay as you go” with plenty of credit. I’m messaging from the UK to the UK.

I have phoned orange and my phone is enabled for mms. They even gave me 30 free mms to use up by 13th September. I am also orange GPRS enabled.
I have downloaded the correct settings from the Nokia home page and have them installed on my phone. well they look correct to me.

GPRS access point is Orange mms
IP address is 192.168.224.010

So what have I forgotten to do?

Any advice is gratfully welcome and thanks.

could someone give me the scoop on the platform match.com used to create the match mobile mms application. I am interested to find out the binary coding needed to move information from a website to the mmsc and back to the website or another phone. I am working on a similar non-competing project and would like some insight if possible. thanks.

I think it really need GPRS for MMS data transmission, at least in China.
I don't know the status of other countries.
MMS is a sub protocol of WAP. And WAP can be transmitted via SMS/GPRS/CSD/CDMA etc.
I think you can receive MMS via CSD settings.

I have a Nokia 3650. There are two default MMS setting s in it. One is CSD/MMS, the other is GPRS/MMS. I think you can try CSD one.

Hi there people
I have just got a motorola v525 off my mate and she had a vodafone sim card in it and i presume it was made for vodafone cause it has the logo all over it. I took that sim out and got it unlocked and put my o2 sim in it. All is fine but the thing is i cant connect to thru gprs cause its all wired for vodafone browsing or whatever and i bascially need to know how to change it so i can connect to the net (using o2 presumably) so i can download pics and ring tones an stuff...any help would be mucho appreiciato..cheers :-)

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me whether the MMS specification says anything about this?

"If a message header field value is equal to the default header filed value of a particular header, then the header field shall be totally omitted, i.e. message header fields with default values shall not be present within a message header."

With Best Regards,
Dinu Thomas.
