Can we say that:

1) If the 'To-address' of M-Send.req is a mobile
number, the Proxy-relay will use SMS PUSH for
M-Notification.ind to the destination

2) If the 'To-address' of M-Send.req is an IP-address,
the Proxy-relay will use IP-PUSH for M-Notification.ind to the destination

In the first case, what happens if the MMS-Proxy-relay is connected
to GGSN through IP (Say FastEthernet link) ??(Is this scenario possible
at all)?? Will it be an IP/WSP push to GGSN that would be converted to
an SMS to the mobile by GGSN?? I would really appreciate if you can
point me to some relevant documents..

Hi,

To address will be either mobile no. or E-mail id may present.Basically if a mobile no. is given,it will send an SMS notification to retrive otherwise send an E-mail.U can get clear idea of going thru MMS Encapsulation Wap forum pdf....

I have read all the MMS specs, but I dont see any details of what would happen when more than one type of network (Cellular - GPRS and IP networks) are involved. The question is about when IP push or SMS PUSH are used and how to decide which one would be used?? Consider This scenario:

Mobile Station ->(Cellular Network)->GGSN->(IP Network)->MMS Proxy-relay

Is this scenario realistic?? In this case, consider my questions in my 1st post..

It is up to the push proxy (or whatever network component is generating the push, which could be the MMSC directly). MMS does not define that SMS push has to be used.
