Hi,

im trying to send a mms but in the from sends 50760000001 instead of +50760000001, what would be the cause of this behave? And also i notice that the default sender address in MMS Outbound Routing only accepts 27 chars, is there any way to extend that without updating?

Hi Felix,

Is this an operator MMSC configuration of NowSMS?

If so, the problem is that the NowSMS MMSC is not configured to properly recognise user phone numbers in international format.

In a single country configuration, the solution to this is to define the default country code (507) in the MMSC.INI file, like this:

MSISDNHeaderDefaultCountryCode=507

More information on that configuration parameter (and related parameters) can be found here: http://www.nowsms.com/support/bulletins/tb-nowsms-002.htm

Basically, when that parameter is set, the NowSMS MMSC knows that 50760000001 is +50760000001. Otherwise, the MMSC is not sure whether or not the number is international.

However, if you are using a single MMSC to service multiple countries, then it is more complex. You cannot use the default country code setting because the MMSC will get confused by senders in countries other than the default.

There is an explanation of how to configure a multiple country scenario at the following link:

Regarding the "Default Sender Address" ... the reason for the limit is because a phone number is expected here (not the SMTP envelope sender). For a typical MM4 connection, this setting is not used.
