LimSee2 is a WYSIWYG authoring application for the
Synchronized Multimedia Application Language (SMIL)
specified by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

LimSee2 supports the full SMIL 2.0 recommendation,
including subsets such as MMS (Mobile Multimedia Messaging),
and 3GPP-PSS 4/5 (Third Generation Partnership Project -
Packet Switching Streaming Service).

Free-of-charge installers are provided for Windows, Linux and MacOSX,
and the java source code is available under the GNU/GPL licence.

LimSee2 features 5 edition views:
- zoomable scene editor with video, audio, image and HTML rendering
- timeline editor with a time cursor for accurate scene preview
- DTD-driven tree UI for editing the full or partial XML structure
- XML attributes panel with high-level editors for complex grammars
- syntax-hilighted source editor, with incremental search/replace,
pattern marking, copy/cut/paste...

LimSee2 features a template-based editor for building slideshows,
which seamlessly imports Microsoft PowerPoint and OpenOffice Impress slides.
It synchronizes the slides with a video or audio track,
generates an interactive table of content and a slide navigation pad.
It saves slideshow data in a SMIL-independant format,
so it can be re-used for generating various layouts and styles.

LimSee2 also provides services such as refactorings, built-in SMIL validator,
XML code pretty-formatter, recursive presentation download (code and media),
call to external player, encoding management...
