I will soon be getting a Nokia 3600 phone (GSM/GPRS) which uses Bluetooth to interface with the PC. It claims to be able to send/receive SMS/MMS messages to/from the PC but I have no idea how this will work. I was hoping I would be able to easily compose/receive SMS/MMS messages from/to the Nokia 3600 phone via bluetooth.

Is this all possible with NowSMS? I beleive the bluetooth connection will belinked to a COM port? Not too sure yet.

The bluetooth can be made over a COM port connection. So if your phone supports bluetooth and it's got a GSM modem featured you can be sure that at leat you can send SMS messages through NowSMS.

Hi Saeed. Thanks for the response. It's kind of weird though. I have no intentions of forwarding the received SMS/MMS out from the cellphone but actually want it displayed on the cellphone as if it were coming from a ceond party. I'm trying to experience bulk SMS/MMS without the costs of actually transmitting over the operator's network. NowSMS should act like a SMSC/MMSC and is transmitting the message to a waiting cellphone, via the serial port.

Hopefully NowSMS can accomodate this.

I don't clearly understand your goal. But I'd like to emphasise that NowSMS is just a gateway which acts as a middleware, ie an app which stands between the SMSC and GSM network on one side and your frontend application on the other.
Your SMS messages are bound to go through the operator's SMSC.
Just one more thing, if by bulk SMS/MMS you really mean business, you'll have to resort to another SMSC connectivity method as GSM modems are limited on the number of messages they can send in a minute.
