If I have it right, amr is the 'most' supported audio format for mms. I am having difficulty in converting mp3, wav files to amr for transmission.
When I listen to the converted file it sounds garbled and not at all intelligible.

Advice anyone ?

i think most phones also support midi. amr is so restrictive (along with mp3s) legally wise that i don't even know of any player of it in linux.

.midi and .amr is the most supported type although mp3 is becoming more supported for example my v600 plays mp3's as ringtones. The best way to convert to a different format will be on your pc and getting an audio converter which converts to midi or amr. The only thing i know which plays midi is sound blaster audio system but that is on my old win95 pc.

I've used the Nokia Multimedia Converter to convert mp3 and wav audio to amr, with good results.

And you may as well give up on converting anything to midi - the only good midi is original midi - conversions will only waste your time with substandard results.

I thought that Nokia Multimedia Convertor, converts files to AAC not AMR? or are they the same thing?
