Hello,
I am pretty new to NOWSMS and have read through the guides, docs, and searched this forum a couple times now. I've managed to configure everything to the point where I am able to send SMS Test Messages no problem. My recipient phone receives the message and the NOWSMS Web Interface confirms that the message has been sent.
On the other hand I am now trying to send MMS Messages to a recipient phone. I have activated the MMSC Service and have configured it. I have also added an additional route under MMSC Routing and configured that to cingulars server here in the US. I have tested the connection and the connection test is OK. Now when i go into the web interface and try to send a MMS, after entering the number and the file and pressing send i also get a message submitted screen with "MMSMessageID=20100716/16/A0D0CAC6" however the Recipient phone never receives the message.

Is there something that i am missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

Hi Rich,

It sounds like you've configured things correctly. When you defined the MMSC Routing definition, did you test the connection and get a response that it w as ok? And you made it the default route?

The only "gotcha" that I can think of is that if you are sending to a phone n umber in the "MMSC Users" list, then NowSMS will try direct delivery instead of using the routing. If this were the case you would see the SMS Sent coun ter increase when you send an MMS.

The other possibility is that if you are using a SIM card that was purchased with the modem, the operator may not have provisioned it for MMS Support. Y ou may want to try swapping SIMs with a phone...test if the modem can send w ith the phone's SIM and vice versa.

I'd also be curious if the MMSC-yyyymmdd.LOG file is reporting errors and wh at those errors are.

I will be traveling all day Monday and won't be back online until Tuesday. I f you can not resolve the problem, enable the MMSCDEBUG.LOG and MMSWAPDEBUG. LOG. Try sending another message and post the logs attached to a reply here . Or email them to nowsms@nowsms.com with Attention: Des in the subject lin e. If you email the files, please post a followup note here as well.

Hello,
Thanks for getting back to me and responding to my thread. I have double checked all my settings, and everything looks good. I have confirmed that my SIM card has the ability to send MMS's because I sent one from a phone to another phone and it was received no problem. I've attached all the logs you asked for and have also emailed them to nowsms just in case. I hope this will help solve this issue and want to thank you for your time. thanks

Hi Rich,

Thanks, that clarifies what is happening. There is a configuration issue.

I'll give a quick summary, but if my summary is tough to follow, the following article goes into more detail: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/quickstartguide/NowSMSQuickStart3.pdf

I think you've already defined a route to send MMS messages via your modem on the "MMSC Routing" page of the configuration. (One of the logs shows a connection test.)

Have you also made this route your "Default Route"?

If you have, is the phone number that you are sending to in the "MMSC Users" list? If it is, delete it.

Basically, NowSMS is trying to perform direct delivery as an MMSC. But this is blocked by most operators, and a route needs to be established to send the MMS message via the modem.

Hi,
Thank you very much in helping me with this issue. I was able to get it working properly and now I've managed to receive MMS messages from NowSMS using a real network.
I am going to do some searching on another issue I am having and If i don't find a solution I will create another Post. Thank You
