HI,
I want to know, is there any standard that defines how to pack DRM related informations for Separate Delivery(like DRM Type,Count,Interval, etc) for MM7 Submit Request.
Please post the standard doc or link.

Thanks,
Chandan

Hi Chandan,

If you are using separate delivery, this DRM related information is not part of the MMS message. It would therefore not be sent via an MM7 request.

Separate delivery DRM rights objects must be delivered to the device with WAP Push.

who will create the rights object for the given object that needs to be protected?

In case of combined delivery how the packing of the rights object information will be packed and send into mmsc.

Whoever created the object.

When using combined delivery, the rights object is not applied to the MMS message as a whole, but to individual components within the MMS message.

Each object that has a DRM wrapper is encoded using the MIME type application/vnd.oma.drm.message.

So, for example, instead of an image/png object, in the place where it would occur in the MMS message, instead you have an application/vnd.oma.drm.message object (which is essentially a multipart object that contains the application/vnd.oma.drm.rights+xml rights object, followed by the original image/png object).

If there are multiple objects with DRM applied, they must each be encoded as application/vnd.oma.drm.message objects with their own copies of the rights object.

Thanks for the explanation.

In case of separate delivery how the packing of rights object happens for mm7. Does the VASP needs any kind of support to use separate delivery.

In the case of separate delivery, the rights object is a separate piece of content that must be delivered via WAP Push, completely independent of the MM7 connection.
