Hi There, I understand there is a difference between GSM and CDMA SMS formats and thats fine. My question however is specifically in relation to how an MMS notification varies accross the two technologies. When SMS is used as the bearer for mm1 notifications, I've read that CDMA & GSM supports WAP Push formatted messages for notifications, (which are essentially compliant with the OMA specifications). Agin this is fine, but additionally ive read that CDMA also supports BREW SMS (ie some BREW encoded data which results in a brew application acting like the MMS User Agent on the handset? Is that a correct interpretation? Do you have any idea which method (Brew SMS) or OMA (Wap Push) is actually deployed? And if so where can I find the specs for coding up the Brew SMS styled notification? Lastly is there any difference at all in the binary encoded notification (mm1 part) when a network uses the oma spec on cdma and gsm? - or is does oma tell us about different mappings into the cdma sms and gsm sms? thanks for the feedback Jeff |
