I would like to start a service, where a user will send an sms message, i we send one back. The content of the sent back message will depend on the content of the message send by the user. So what company could offer this to me? I signed up with clicaktell, but their site is very confusing, and i could not find answers on there. Can i rent a number with clickatell? How many digits will this number be? Or are there any other services like clickatell?

Also, how can i charge for this?

Thankyou.

SimplePCConnect supports MMS indication. You can downloading it from www.simpleteam.com. You can use Nokia Phone for testing.

I'm in a similar situation as Anonymous. I am starting a company with a group of people (in the USA) that will provide prepaid credit cards to teenagers (similar to visa buxx). A major portion of the service is providing information, potentially on a daily basis, to the teenager. Additionally, there will be the ability for the teen to perform balance inquiries, and the parents will be notified when restricted transactions are attempted or if certain "flag" guidelines have been triggered.

In order to provide a cost-effective service, much of the teen and parent communication needs to be performed via SMS messages. We have a long-term forecast of 1 million members, meaning we will be potentially be sending 1 million+ messages a day.

I have talked to some of the major wireless service providers in the US, and I am getting very frustrated. After going several layers through support and technical personnel, I give up, as the response I get is "just send an SMS message via email through our gateway". Well, this would be okay in some cases, but we want to be able to receive SMS requests for balance information and money transferes. Ideally, this we would have a short-code assigned for the messaging, but even the carriers didn't know whata short-code was!

I spend hours searching the internet, just to find a lot of "crap". This company seems to be the closest to what I need, but it still isn't clear as to what I need to do in order to get an account with a provider, what equipment to purchase, and how to best interface software (such as NowSMS) with a ASP.net site and the card processing software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
