Hello, I am implementing a WAP Push SI client here, and would like to know about the character encoding for the text that comes with the SI message. For both English and Chinese (simplified and traditional) i see 0x6A (UTF-8) in the Charset header field. I can convert that successfully to the local encoding on my device and it displays correctly. However i am concerned why it comes as UTF-8 for Chinese? It is using two byte encoding and when i convert it, it is shortened in half. Is this correct and all NOW SMS Wap Push SIs come in UTF-8 regardless of the original text I send - it could be english or Chinese, it is still shows UTF-8 in the header? Or are their other codes possible there? |
