I use Ericsson T68 phone and wish to change ISP settings. Namely create a new profile (WAP profile) with IP, user name, password and all that. All attempts to use NowSMS for OTA configuration have failed (message never arrives) and I was using Ericsson specs: ----------------------- //SIAP11 Iname:MyOperator2 Itel:+460000006 Iip:194.232.30.42 Idns1:194.230.33.47 Iuid:uname Ipwd:passwrdf Ipwp:N ----------------------- OTA message arrives and T68 says that it accepts them but nothing changes on the inside. Anyone has any ideas on how to send OTA for T68 for ISP settings? Thanx

Hi, I don't have any suggestions other than using the NowSMS OTA functions. How about we try troubleshooting that? Try sending the following messages as "Binary Other": Message #1: UDH=0B0504C34FC0020003040201 Data=01062C1F2A6170706C69636174696F6E2F782D7761702D70726F762E62726F777365722D73657474696E67730081EA01016A0045C6060187124901871311033132332E34352E362E370001871C1103736F6E6F666F6E2E636F6D0001872270010186071103687474703A2F2F7761702E646B0001C60801871511034142430001 DCS=F5 Message #2: UDH=0B0504C34FC0020003040202 Data=01C67F0187151103576170000187171103687474703A2F2F7761702E646B00010101 DCS=F5 Does the T68 see this as an OTA? If so, there is some hope. We made some minor changes in the most recent NowSMS release (v4.20), and we've found that in some configurations, there are problems sending out OTA ... particularly to the T68/T68i. If the above OTA is recognised by the phone, but you don't have luck using the regular NowSMS functions, then send an e-mail to nowsms@now.co.uk, and I'll send you an update to see if you're encountering the same issue that we saw at another installation. -bn

We are experiencing the same problems with OTA to Sony Ericsson. SMS MMS fine. OTA to Nokia HTTP and Web Interface fine, OTA to Sony Ericsson message sent but no messages received. Sent the binary but still the same. Should PID be blank? Gateway version 4.20 (b20030507). Sony Ericsson tested t68, T68i and t610. Emailed yesterday currently no reply. Please could you help as we have a large Sony Ericsson population. Chris }

Chris, PID as blank (or 0) would be fine with the example above. I've responded to you elsewhere ... but I find it very puzzling that the above example settings would not work. If I recall, those were cut & paste right out of one of the specifications documents. You could try DCS set to 4 instead of F5. (This can address some cross-operator issues in some countries.) Also, with SonyEricsson phones ... if you've tried sending other OTAs out to them, and there was anything that the phone did not like about the OTA, they often can find themselves in a "stupid" state. You should remove the battery and then reinsert it to do a hard restart of the phone, and see if that makes any difference with the test OTA here. -bn

Follow-up regarding the following note in one of the messages above: We made some minor changes in the most recent NowSMS release (v4.20), and we've found that in some configurations, there are problems sending out OTA ... particularly to the T68/T68i. For v4.20 users, if you download the update at http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsms420a.exe, it goes back to the earlier way of sending out OTA messages ... which should address the compatibility problems mentioned here. -bn}

Hi, I am facing one peculiar problem in OTA settings. The case is the phone is already having one active wap profile and I am sending new wap settings to it and also want to make the new settings as the Default WAP Profile of the phone. Nokia handsets ask whether to make the settings as active settings but this option is not there on Sony Ericsson phones. My questions are : 1.Is it possible to set a new WAP settings as the active settings using the OTA in Sony Ericsson phones? 2.When we install new settings in the Sony Ericsson phones, the Data accounts show a CID. Can we change this using the OTA settings. 3. If we create a wap profile named 'wap' via ota then a data account is also created with the same name 'wap'. Can we make the different Wap profile name and data accounts using OTA settings. Thank
